Fishing

Lake Mackenzie is not included in the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department's stocking program; however the lake supports a healthy population of game fish for anglers to enjoy.

  • Several species of catfish
  • Crappie
  • Bass - White, Large mouth, Small mouth
  • Hybrid Striper
  • Walleye
  • Perch

In order to fish at Lake Mackenzie, fisherman must purchase the appropriate daily fees (entry, boating); in addition, the fisherman must possess a valid Texas Fishing License.  Anglers fishing from a boat must meet all requirements of the Texas Water Safety Act.

Lake Mackenzie provides opportunities for anglers to fish from the bank, or fish from a boat.  Bait and tackle may be purchased at the marina.  If you would like to be posted on our Facebook page please email a picture of your catch to parksup@lakemackenzie.com
